Silhouette Reflection

The assignment was to create a silhouette out of a picture of yourself. First I had to take a picture of myself and trace it out and start designing it. We had to include a picture of are self’s into the project. I used the adobe illustrator for this project.

I cropped my body in different angles it wasn’t a complete 180 or 90 degrees. I used my name as the text, most of this project was made by trying new things out and experimenting. The background of my image is just a color that stands out more then most colors.

I think the why I cropped my piece does create a unique compositions. I do think the font and style does fit well with my quote. The background color makes my pictures pop out more.

I think I did better then what i usually do on other assignments. I like the colors that I chose out because it makes my work stand out more. I learned how to use the pen tool. Learned that composition can complete change a piece of art.

Reflection

Public Service Announcement Reflection
The assignment for this Public Service Announcement (PSA) Reflection is to select a topic that is attention worthy and then make a short public service announcement about it. I had to come up with an educational statement using only five pictures. The rules of the assignment were it had to be about 30 seconds long. I had to have a call to action site at the very end.
I decided to make my issue about drunk driving since that was a big problem in providence last year. I supported the fact that not everyone dies when hit by a drunk driver, but you might be horribly scarred after the accident and the drunk driver might walk away without any injuries. I didn’t pick any graphed statistics but I used images to decipherer them, for example the buzz driving and drunk driving image resulted in the same outcome. I used the song pressure since most kids are pressured into drinking.
I found this topic worth creating because in Rhode Island there have been a few problems with teens driving drunk and killing other drivers and pedestrians. I support the side were parents shouldn’t provide the alcohol to minors. My statistics show the out come of your decisions the song makes you think about them.
I think I did a good job with this project even though I didn’t meant all of the requirements. The images seem like the best of my project and I’m sure other will agree. I think the statistics can use some improvement since I only picked the ones that get my point a cross right away. I learned how to show people statistics without taking up a lot of their time and some things up in a few words.

Sihouette

Reflection

The assignment was to create a silhouette, which had to be a picture of you. The picture didn’t have to show your whole body you could have used only you head. I only used my upper body. I used illustrator for this project it was new from Adobe Photoshop. I found it somewhat easier to use then Photoshop though.

I don’t really remember what I did because I was having a hard time use the illustrator program. I was taking forever trying to learn how to use it and practicing using it wasn’t getting me anywhere. I got annoyed and started working on my project I came up with most of my ideas by experimenting with different brushes and styles.

Now that I think about it I didn’t crop any of my pieces. All of my pieces stayed on the canvas the same way I didn’t tilt or rotate my silhouette. I played around with the text a lot, I found this paint brush and a paint stroke that I used to write my text, it was kind of hard because I couldn’t release the left click or I’ll mess up my text.

I think I did pretty well on this assignment. I finished around the same time everyone else finished. I wouldn’t mind doing this project again because I still had some more ideas that could had been used.
